AI cost tracking

Track the AI usage WipStack actually observes.

See measured token usage and estimated cost for AI actions WipStack performs, with a practical monthly guardrail and a clearly stated measurement boundary.

WipStack measures token usage and estimates cost for AI features it performs, including AI-reviewed imports and enhanced reports.

01

Measure WipStack AI activity

The usage screen totals measured tokens and estimated cost for WipStack AI actions.

  • View month-to-date WipStack AI actions
  • See measured input and output tokens
  • Keep estimates clearly labeled
02

Keep estimates honest

WipStack labels calculated costs as estimates. The screen explains that activity outside WipStack is not included, avoiding false precision or implied provider access.

  • Distinguish estimates from provider-reported figures
  • Avoid invented subscription totals
  • State the measurement boundary
03

Use a real included-AI guardrail

WipStack shows the per-user monthly allowance it actually enforces and pauses optional AI enhancement when that limit is reached.

  • See the included allowance and remaining amount
  • Cap WipStack-funded AI enhancement per user
  • Keep all non-AI project features available after the limit
04

Choose who pays for AI enhancement

Normal beta usage can use WipStack’s included AI allowance. A user may optionally connect and select a personal OpenAI or Anthropic API key; it takes priority, remains encrypted on the server, and moves model charges to that API project.

  • Included allowance for ordinary beta use
  • Optional OpenAI or Anthropic override
  • Standard reports and PDFs never require a model key
The outcome

Cost tracking becomes useful when it is close to the work, transparent about uncertainty, and tied to a decision.

Start with one real project, approve the context that belongs, and let WipStack prepare the next clear handoff.
